Kind of, in a Pickle!

Or better, I was!

Oh yes, I did it again, 

waiting to the last, and I mean the absolute last minute,

to get a Birthday card done.

Saturday morning 9 o'clock, no card

and the party is at 2.

My husbands suggestion

"Just buy one"!

My answer "I CAN'T DO THAT"!!!

It just feels wrong to me to give a store bought 

card since I have been making my own!

Digging through my emergency stash,

nothing for a teenage girl:(

OK, "I CAN DO THIS",

find a quick and easy layout,

thank you 'Take Ten" magazine,

find the right paper and colors,

oh, and some cute stamps!

OH YES, I DID IT!!!

One and a half hours later, not to bad!

I think this was my fastest card ever.

The girl is a "Hero Arts" stamp, 

background stamp from "Inkadinkado" and

the sentiment is a "Stampin'Up!" stamp.

One of my crocheted flowers atop a punched paper flower

and a sparkly brad for a little bling!

Well, I pulled this one off...

... to the next time...HiHi!

No to bad for a quick card,

It's a party!

"Grow your Blog!"

Hello everyone 

and 

welcome to my humble blog!

I always wanted to start a blog, 

a place were I could share

all the little things I love to do, 

but never had the courage to do so.

In a way I was afraid that I could not find the right words to say

or my little creations just weren't pretty or good enough to share with anyone!

But one day in May of 2011 I just sat down,

got all my courage together

and

"My Paper Daisy" 

was born.

Yes, it was a labor of love, lots of pain
and a few not so nice words,
 to the first post actually happened.

I learned in leaps and bounds

(still do)

but the best of all,
 along the way,

I met a lot of wonderful creative people who

keep inspiring me in a wonderful way!

 This is were the magic happens!
I love this spot, sometimes I just sit there
looking out the window, DAYDREAMING!

 For right now I took over what used to be our study...

 ... yes, I know, I need to get organized!
I promise its on my to do list for the new year!
Also my blog started out to be mostly about
my love to stamping, card-making and
paper-crafts...

 ... lately I also started sharing my
 little addiction with fiber.
Mostly knitting and crocheting, you never can have enough yarn!
This is my newest project,
a new scarf!

And ever now and then there will be a post
about all the beauty that surounds me!

Love is in the Air!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I can not believe we are already thinking about

"Valentines Day",

but it's right around the corner!

So what better thing to do on a rainy droopy weekend than

to create a pretty card.

Lettering, silhouette and large heart were cut from 

"Victorian Romance" Cricut cartridge .

Small doily heart was cut from "Close to my Heart" Cricut cartridge and

for the banner and flowers I used paper scraps I had laying

around in the stamp room.

I have to admit, I'm having a hart time thowring 

paper scraps away, so I'm always happy if I can use them 

in a project.

Also a few days ago I struck gold at work!

One of our patrons was cleaning house and

decided to donated their old books and magazines

to our Library.

Items we do not keep go into book sale, 

free item pin or sometimes just into recycling.

So you can imagine how happy I was when

this old "Sears, Roebuck Catalog"

was marked for discharge.

I was literally drooling and bouncing up and down at the same time!

This beauty was mine!

AHHHH.....

... the possibilities!
I think I will make some copes of the pages and
try my hands on image transfer!

As the Year comes to an End....

... I always feel the urge of finishing some of my

unfinished projects.

It's like de-cluttering the house around this time of year,

starting the new year on a clean slate!

Well, at least I have good intentions,

I have not made it to the de-cluttering part yet;)

I have been working on this scarf off and on since the early fall

and I really wanted it finished before cold weather hits.

Looks like I got it done just in time before our first good 

and measurable snowfall this week.

The pattern for the scarf is from the 

Ravelry website.

Pattern 

 The flower band is my own creation.

I'm not a huge fan of something tight around my neck,

but I still wanted the scarf look finished without the 

bulky knot.

  So I crocheted a small band which ties around the scarf 

and is held together by a bottom in the back.

 Finished of with a crocheted flower and a pretty bottom 

to add a little bling to the scarf.

The flower-band can be easily adjusted, 

up or down.

After seeing them everywhere,

I just had to try one myself.

"Owl Hats"!

I know Christmas is over but I wanted to share one more 

Christmas card with you all.

Made for my sons girlfriend, 

she is a huge "Hello Kitty" fan!

Kitty and Santa hat are cut with the 

"Doodlecharms" Cricut cartridge.

And yes, as this years comes to an end

I would like to thank each and everyone of you

The time you been waiting for....

... finally!

After three prototypes and a few small changes...

... here is the finished 

"Seal Family Christmas Card"!

 The tag was stamped with Stampin'Up! "Winter Post" set.

Pine branch was cut with Tim Holtz "Tattered Pinecone" die cut

and the back panel is dry embossed with Cuttlebug "Snowflake" 

embossing folder.

 The skates are from Stampin'Up! "Winter Memories" stamp set!

 Poinsettias are a Marianne Design die cut.

The picture frame was cut from Cricut "Fancy Frames" cartridge.

I lightly background stamped the picture panel with Hero Art "K5354",

then added the skaters and layered the stamped panel behind the frame.

Skaters are from Stampin'Up "Winter Post" set.

 Well, I hope it was worth the wait?

It sure took me a little longer then expected, 

I made 50 cards,

and each single one was anxiously awaited 

by family and friends. 

Over the last few years it became a somewhat

expected tradition to send a handmade card

and I hate to disappoint!

 I almost forgot

the inside of the card.

I love this sentiment,

it has such a deep meaning!

All wrapped up in...

... the spirit of Christmas cards and crafts!

Sorry everyone, it's been a while since I posted anything,

but as you can see my stamp-room looks a little 

on the crazy side right now.

And I have to admit I'm doing it to myself,

dragging my heels to the last minute to get my 

Christmas cards made.

Up at 6 a.m.

 The insights and backs of my cards are all stamped.

 The help just arrived.

 Line production in poinsettia making.

 A sneak peek of this years Christmas card.

I will reveal the whole card after I mailed off

the last ones.

Don't want to spoil the surprise for the recipient!

Well and here is the other reason I been absent

"I have been out shopping".

Love this time of year with all the Christmas Bazaars,

Craft Fairs and Antique shows.

I'm always looking forward to our Homemakers Bazaar and the 

local schools Christmas Bazaars. 

So many talented local artists!

So much to see, so many ideas to take home and try out myself!

And my downfall..

... there is one every weekend!

 Found the ice skates on ebay for $7.00...

 ... And this skinny snowman at a local crafts store.

 He used to be a tobacco stick, who would have known! 

... an old  sleigh from an antique store...

... and last but not least,

this used to be an old mirror I bought for $6.00.

Add white spray paint and chalkboard paint

and this beauty adorns my kitchen wall now.

Sleigh Ride!

Were is the time going?

This time change is really getting to me,

it's dark when I leave for work and it's dark when I get home

and soon as the sun goes down I'm ready to go to bed!

Not my favorite thing!

I can not believe we are already celebrating Thanks Giving Day

this coming Thursday and

Christmas is right around the corner.

Time truly flies!

But with all the hustle and the bustel

 it is still the most wonderful time of the year!

I have been playing with my Cricut again...

 This sleigh was cut with the 

'Paper Doll Dress Up" cartridge.

This one is a 5" sleigh.

 Panels are held together by a small box in the middle.

I made mine 11.5 x 5 x 4 cm.

 Sentiment is a from Hero Art "Wishing you flourish".

This little sleigh was so much fun to make and decorate

and I hope it put you in the spirit of the season!
