Empty Nest Symptom...

Hello everyone,
I know this day would come sooner or later,
yes, I'm suffering the empty nest symptom...
 ... from this...

... to this in just a few short days!
It was so much fun watching them grow up and
I'm glad I got a picture of the last remaining Robin before he
worked up enough courage and
decided to follow his parents and siblings into our yard.
It was kind of sad to see them go
but on the up side
"we can use our front door again"!
But my bird watching days are not quiet over yet.
A Cardinal decided to build her nest in the rose bush
right in front our dinning room window
and last week 3 chicks hatched.
Sorry, no card this week!
I been spending many hours in my other
 favorite place lately,
 MY YARD!
It's the most relaxing place after a long day of work.

Recently I been seeing a lot of Succulents popping up in stores,
gorgeous colors, shapes and sizes,
so I thought I give them a try.

Someone posted a great picture on Pinterest
planting them in an old vintage birdcage.
Digging through our shed I found this old cage,
not vintage but not to bad looking,
what do you think?

Thanks for stopping in!
Have a wonderful week
and maybe you find some time to
relax in your yard or start a new
Succulent project!

Happy Retirement and News from the Nest...

Happy Sunday everyone!
Wow, I cant believe the weekend is almost over,
back to work tomorrow :(
But I have to admit I had a very lazy Saturday,
well, a my kind of way lazy.
Due to rainy weather I was confined to the
indoors.
HeHe and stamp-room bound!
I hate to say it but sometimes I need a rainy day!!!
And this is what I did on my lazy day...
... one of my dear friends is retiring this week
and I was in dyer need of a card for her.
I decided to do this easel card for her,
all in different shades of pink.

A little glassine bag holds a little tag,
sorry I did not get a picture of the tag,
but it says
"Enjoy the Journey"
and
"Celebrate"
I can't wait to give it to her,
she is been looking forward for this day
for a long time!
Happy retirement dear friend,
so well deserved!

Sorry I could not post with out an
update from the nest.
It's getting a little tight in the nest.
They sure are keeping mom and dad busy with the
feeding duties.
I have to say they are looking like little space aliens
with their little fluff on their heads!

Have a wonderful week
and
thank you so much for stopping in!

OH so running behind... but catching up slowly!

Hello everyone!
Hope you all had a great weekend!
We sure did, the sun is out
and it is in the upper 80's.
With the weather finally getting better
we are playing the catchup game in the yard.
Boy, it feels so good getting out and getting things done!!!
Yep, flower boxes planted and hung
 and yes, HURRAY,
your veggie patch got finally done too.
I was really stressing about it,
we had the plants on the front porch for weeks
but weather and baseball seemed like to interfere
with the planting process.

Sorry everyone,
baseball is also keeping me from blogging here lately.
This was actually my my "Mother's Day" card
I meant to post last week.
Sorry!!!
But since the card works for any occasion not just for
"Mother's Day" I decided to post it anyway!
The frame and flower girl was cut with
Cricut cartridge "Fancy frames" and "A Child's Year".
One of my crocheted flowers and a piece of old vintage lace
adorn the card.
Sheet note paper was a page from an old children's song book
I had laying around.
I think it also would make a beautiful Wedding card,
what do you think?

Remember the wreathe on my front door?
Well, a Robin decided to build a nest on it!
 Right on top!
Mama Robin sure took over our front door,
and it gets a little hairy especially at night,
when we forget about our watch bird,
she sure can scare the ... out of you in the dark!
Not only that, she also has the habit to bomb you.
So far the recipient of the lucky load is always
 been our youngest son.
We always get a good laugh out of it,
he on the contrary thinks it's not funny at all!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
Hope you all have a great week!

Happy Father's Day!

Hello everyone,
hope you all had a great weekend!
No I'm not crazy or extremely early
to celebrate Father's Day
but
May 9th is Father's Day or Vatertag in Germany.
I made this card for my Dad or
"Opa" as we call him at home.

The card was very simple and easy to make.
Lots of laying and just a few stamped images.
 The little envelope was cut
with the Cricut "Wild Card" cartridge.
Happy German Father's Day
to all you Dads and Opas out there!

Shhhh... don't tell my husband
but he is a rake short in the garage!
Actually he already knows!!!
His first questions was, when I showed him our
new door wreath,
"Were did you get that rake from???"
I told him not to worry,
I just borrowed it for a little wile.
Since I just took the screw out and
slid it of the handle,
plus it's just hot glued to the wreath,
no harm done.
So in the fall when I switch wreath he probably
will get his rake back.
Maybe;)
I think it looks just grand hanging on our front door.
What do you think?

Thanks so much for stopping in!
Hope you all have a great start to the workweek!

A bird, a nest, a tire and memories of Paris...

... Hello everyone,
with spring finally arriving so did our birds.
Our yard is buzzing and I love waking up in the morning
to the sound of birds singing.
And yes they are busy building their nests,
sometimes in the most  unusual spots you could imagine.
This nest is a relocated one,
oh yes you heard right,
it started out and who ever would have thought
a bird would pick this location,
on the back tire of our truck?!?!?
We do not know what bird it was
but one thing is for sure,
it was a fast builder.
The nest literally appeared overnight,
from parking and wanting to leave the next morning,
just a few short hours, there it was.
What to do, I felt bad enough the nest had to go?!
Glad that there were no eggs in it,
I decided to move the nest into the tree right beside the driveway.
More for decorative purposes then anything else.

To our surprise, just three days later,
the nest was renovated and had new owners.
Mrs. Robin and three beautiful blue eggs have moved in:)

And another beautiful surprise, this one I found in my mailbox!!!
Absolutely gorgeous earrings,
a gift from my blog friend Rachel.
Thanks so much Rachel they are absolutely beautiful!
Visit Rachel's blog
and take a look at her wonderful jewelry creations.

Last but not least
my memories of Paris.
I love Paris and anything french,
never been there but one can dream!
A little bit of everything,
I wanted the card to look like a scrapbooking page,
with things you would have collected and
brought back from your travels,
precious memories.
All the things you seen...
... cherished ..
... and will dream about!
Getting travel fever yet...
... I sure do!

Large Eiffel Tower - Stampabilities
Tour Eiffel - Hero Art/Paris France set
Hot Air Ballon and Ticket - Hampton Art
Background - Tim Holtz Stamps and Embossing folder

Thanks for stopping in!
Hope you enjoyed looking around!

HURRAY... Spring...

... finally arrived in our neck of the woods!
After a few days in the 80's and a little rain
things just popped literally overnight!
 Bleeding Heart
 First Tulips of the season.
One of my favorite trees in the yard
is this Star Magnolia.
It is usually the first one in full bloom this time of year.
Sadly it does not last very long.
Our yard is a sea of purple Violets!

 Little Grape Hyacinth.
Our back yard, needs mowing really badly!
And thats were I spend most of today,
picking up sticks...
 ... and burning them.
Ready to mow tomorrow!
 I could not resist yesterday!
I just had to stop at the nursery and
buy some veggies plants.
Oh, I'm soo..oo ready to get the veggie patch going!!!
I know it's to early but
I'm having a hard time being patient
especially since the weather is so nice.
Love spending more time outside
after being cooped up all winter!
I found this metal caddy,
I think it came from or was an old toolbox,
A neet place to visit, with thousands of sq. feet of cool stuff!
The caddy will get transformed into
 my new portable herb garden,
as soon as the Hubby picks up some potting soil at the store!

Don't you all Love Spring,
did you all plant anything yet?
Hope you all have a sunshiny weekend
and
thanks for stopping by!

Wishing you a Sweet Easter!

Happy Easter Weekend to everyone!
And sorry I have been kind of absent
from the blog world lately!
I have a good excuse so,
BASEBALL!
Yap, already, even so it feels more like Football weather
sitting on the bleachers every night,
winter coat - mittens - blanket - hot coco or
coffee mocha extra strong for me,
my youngest sons playing season started about two weeks ago.
So far the boys are of on a rocky start
and I really hope it will get better for them as the season progresses!

Since I didn't have much time this year
I had to find some quick and easy
things to make for Easter.
Like this...
... Peat pot easter basket!
 Filled with sweet Easter goodies!

... and this adorable Easter Bunny bag.
The bag itself is a die cut and all the other bunny parts
are punched, super easy and fast.
Well, I cheated on my Easter card. Kind of!
This is last years card, I made and
never got to mail, so,
they actually made it into the mail this year!
 My little Easter trio!
This was our yard on Tuesday,
snow on our spring flowers.
Will spring ever come to Kentucky?
And I think we suppose to get more of the white stuff next week!!!

Wishing everyone a Wonderful and Happy Easter!
Thank so much for stopping in!
