The Earth Laughs in Flowers!

Hello
 and
Happy weekend to you all!

Today I would like to share with you two cards I made with
the Spellbinders "Large Die of the Month -June",
one is a Birthday card and the other just a little card for any occasion.
I decided to name the post after the sentiment stamped on the general card
"The Earth laughs in Flowers .--E.E.Cummings"
because it fits both cards beautifully.
On this card I decided to inlay some of the fowers and leaves with different colored card-stock.
Sentiment stamped with Stampin'Up! set "Watercolor Trio.
Butterfly was cut with Cricut cartridge "Sentimentals".
The background panel was dry embossed with the Cricut embossing folder "Poppy" by Anna Griffin.
No inlay on this one, just a little rose in the corner to give it balance.
Sentiment stamped with Stampin'Up!  set "Fabulous Florets".

The Spellbinders "June Large Die of the Month"
came with two different dies which are both beautiful,
however I learned very fast that inlay is a very time consuming technique!
Here is a link to a video tutorial by Yana Smakula
which might helps you speed up the process a bit.

Thanks so much for stopping by
and
I hope you enjoyed looking around!
Have a wonderful week!

Sugar skulls!

Hello
and
Happy weekend to everyone!
Hope you all had a great 4th of July,
we spend ours with the kids and the
Queen Bee (grand baby #1)!
It's been awhile we had everyone under one roof at the same time,
so this was a special treat for us!
Sadly everyone it hitting home this weekend
and it will be another 6 month before we all be together again!
Christmas hurry up and get here, LoL, just kidding!
Anyway we had a great time and even so this has been a busy week I found a few minutes
here and there to finally put the finishing touches on my
 "Sugar skull" card.
This was one of the first cards I made,
I liked the layout but was not very happy with the colors.
Another prototype, still playing with the layout.
Sometimes it takes awhile to get the final product rolled out,
but with a few color, pattern paper changes and settling on the right layout ,
I finally was happy with the finished card...
... meet "Sugar Skull".
Flowers are punches and the leaves where cut with
Spellbinder Die of the Month "January".
Lace back panel was cut with Spellbinder Die of the Month "September".
Skull was stamped with Recollection stamp set "Halloween",
I know, they should have named the set "Sugar Skull".

What do you think?
The card is on it's way to it's final destination and
I hope the recipient will love it as much as I loved making it.
Back to the stamp-room to make one, two or three more of these beauty's
for a few more "Sugar Skull" loving friends!

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend
and thank you for stopping by!
