The Beauty of the Season!

Hello everyone
and welcome to the revealing of this years
Seal Fam.
Christmas Card.
"The Beauty of the Season"
I think it is finally safe to show it off,
all of them were mailed and most of them arrived
safely at there destination!
Enjoy!
This is the first time I used watercolors on a stamped image.
I was amazed how easy it was to blend the colors.
 Just a little bling.

My Stocking is hung...

... by the Chimney with care!
Hello
and
Happy Saint Nicholas Day
to everyone!
My mega size stocking is hung.
You think it's big enough?
I been a real good girl you know this year
so I think the size is adequate.
Well, we broke a Christmas tradition this year.
For the first time ever we have an artificial tree!
It will take some therapy/counseling on my side to get
over this but after fighting with falling needles
and furry family members the last few years
we decided to give it a go.
I think we will be O.K.
but
I'm missing the fresh cut tree smell just a bit.

Still playing with my Cardinal Christmas stamp.
I had some cardinals leftover from my
Christmas card production so I decided
to make these gift bags to match
the Christmas cards.
Cardinal from Stampin'Up! set
"Beauty of the Season".

I promise I will post the Christmas card
as soon as the last one is mailed.
Don't want to spoil the surprise!

Thanks for stopping by!
Wishing you and yours a
Happy Saint Nicholas Day!

Stay Calm Stay Focused...

and Enjoy the Holiday Season!
4 more days to Thanksgiving
and
33 days to Christmas,
easier said than done!
Hello everyone,
I'm so glad you took time during this
busy season to stop in for a visit!
I always hit the panic button around this time of year,
worried that the Christmas cards are not
getting done and mailed in time
and not to mention all the craziness in the stores,
all those jolly shoppers hunting for the
perfect gift
but
like every year it will work out just fine!
So my motto for this year
Stay Calm Stay Focused
and
Enjoy the Holiday Season!
Well I can proudly say card production is in full swing
and I even had a little spare time to start a new cowl.
I found this beautiful cherry colored JitterBug yarn at a local fiber fair
and yes, I'm using an oversize coffee mug as a yarn bowl, LoL.
Maybe you all can remember the cowl I started a wile back...
 ... it's finished!

Isaac Mizrahi yarn meet Lana Grossa pattern
a beautiful combination.
Can't wait to it gets cold enough to wear it!

I could not resist to give a little teether
in what I'm cooking up in the stamp room.
This years Christmas card will feature the Cardinal
from Stampin'Up! set
"Beauty of the Season".

Thank you so much for stopping in,
I'm very thankful to each and every  one of you
for following my little humble blog
and
leaving kind comments!
To you and your families
a safe, peaceful
and blessed
Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone and

Ah Halloween, Trick-or-treat, the one day a year

and dress up at the same time!
Well before the spooky fun begins I would
like to share this years Halloween card and treat box

The "Skeleton Lady" or

 Scary pretty!

It's so New Orleans cemetery, Voodoo
and Marie Laveau.
Dame Squelette out for a stroll!
 The toxic good treat boxes.
All stamps used in the treat boxes are from
Stampin'Up! set "Toxic Treats".

All filled with candy and lined up for delivery

Road Trip!

Hello everyone,
I hope you all having a great weekend!
First I need to apologies for running
a little behind on posting anything
but I have a great excuse
"Fall Break"
and
a so needed and well deserved
vacation!!!
Fall is the time for us to head south,
spend some time with family and friends,
and get some well deserved RNR!
And heading south means going home to
Louisiana, St. Tammany and
the beautiful North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain!
This year we were fortunate that the cabins at
reopened after they were destroyed by Hurricane Issac
and we were able to rent one of the cabins right on/in the lake.
A little peace of paradise on the North Shore.
I took a few books and my knitting along
but I have to admit neither reading nor knitting got done,
the magic and peacefulness of this place just captures you,
you just sit and try to soak it all in.
And we did a little kayaking...
 ... fishing at sunrise...
...and crabbing.
Don't worry, Mr. Crab was released after
his picture was taken!
I don't think he is smiling!
 The cabins.
There even is a little beach in the park.
Magical Live Oaks everywhere.

And no trip home is complete unless we stop
in the "Big Easy".
Lee Circle with the Super Dome in the background.
If you ever in New Orleans you should take the time to stop
at the WWII museum.
We spent all day and I think we still missed a few exhibits.
 And last but not least,
one of my favorite things
the "St. Charles Trolley".

Sadly we are back home,
back to work and school,
but we are always looking forward to our next
road trip
to
Louisiana!

To ya'll a wonderful weekend
and a great week!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Autumn, Goodbye Summer!

Hello everyone
and welcome to the first post in
"Autumn"!
Time is flying and
I'm not quiet ready to letting summer go,
holding on to every sunny warm day,
shorts and flip-flops,
just a little while longer.
Still working with summer yarns and
bright colors for my cowls,
hoping cooler weather stays at bay!
This is a new pattern I found on Pinterest
super easy and fast to knit.
Knitted with "Elegance" by "Loops & Threads".
This yarn is so soft and great to knit.
 Another "Forest Glade Cowl"
this time with "Cotton Fair" by "Premier Yarns".

Shiny black cowl knit with "Patons Metallic" yarn.

But just in case the weather should turn cooler
I started my first winter cowl .
Almost finished.

Thanks for taking time and stopping in!
I hope I did not bore you to much with all my crazy cowls!
Have a wonderful week!

Playing with a Vintage Car!

Hello everyone
and
"Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Sure enjoying an extra day off,
I hope you all do too!
But I have to admit, WoW, it's hot outside
and I been hiding out inside in my cool,
air-conditioned stamp room.
I'm not complaining,
loving every minute of it!!!
Well, I been playing with some different layouts
for some vintage inspired masculine cards
and here are the three results.
 Love this vintage Pickup Truck.
Vintage car stamps from Tim Holtz "The Journey" set.
A little burlap and a little sparkle.

One stamp set, three different ways.
Hope you liked the results as much as I did.

Wishing you and your families
a wonderful long relaxing
"Labor Day"
weekend!
Thanks for stopping in!
