Wear-A-Hug Shawl

Hello everyone!
I'm hoping you are having a great weekend!
If not, I would like to share a
"HUG"
with you today.
Yes, my
shawl
by Kristina Vilimaite
is finally finished.
This was my first ever
Knit-Along
and I have to say I had a ball
and hoping to do another one in the near future.
I used Red Heart "Unforgettable" in color "Parrot"
for the main color and
Read Heart "Shimmer" in color "Ivory"
for the contrast color.
Sadly it wasn't finished for the
knit along deadline but I had a blast trying.
The pattern was super easy to follow and
I'm thinking about making another one with
lighter yarn for the summer.
Next summer that is...
...in the mean time
I'm waiting for temperatures to get a bit cooler
so I can wear this "Hug" around town!

Last but not least
a picture or two of my little
hardy fig tree.
I bought this little fellow in the spring of this year
and he literally was just a little twig
but to our surprise little
fig twig
keeps on growing
and...
 ...amazingly...
... we going to have figs
or a fig, LoL.

Thank you so much for stopping by,
hope you enjoyed looking around!
To next time!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Repurposing old Earrings!

Hello
and
Happy Sunday to you all!

As you all know I been knitting quiet a bit here lately,
don't worry I have not given up card making,
and while on the search for patterns I been
coming across pictures of amazing
stitch markers.
Yes, stitch markers and
I mean beautiful little works of art,
not the ones my grandma used to use!
So my creative little mind went to work
and since I'm the queen of cheap
I went digging through my stash of old jewelry...
...and look what I found.
 Love fashion jewelry,
but hate that all the pretty necklaces come with earrings
I can't wear because I'm allergic to them:(
Well now I found a new purpose for all those earrings
"Stitch Markers".
This is all you need: Old Earrings, Jump Rings or Split Rings and
your Pliers.
Then just detach the jewelry part of the earring from the earring hooks
and slip onto a jump ring or split ring.
Now, how easy was that?
And you end up with a set of beautiful
"Stitch Markers".
A little update on my
"Wear-A-Hug" shawl,
it's almost done.
Sadly I missed the KAL deadline but that's fine
I had fun doing it,
and that's all what counts!

Thanks for stopping by
hope you have a wonderful creative week!

Patriotic Kisses and a Froggy Birthday!

Hello everyone
and a
"Happy 4th of July"
weekend!
I know Independence Day is not to Tuesday
but if you were lucky enough you
hopefully got a 4 day weekend!
I had to take a vacation day to get my 4 day weekend,
but it is well worth it.

Today I would like to share with you
a little "Froggy Birthday" card...
... made for a sweet friend who loves and collects
everything and anything frog related.
A few rhinestones for a bit of sparkle.
One of my hand made crochet flowers.
He sure looks kind of cute riding his vintage bike,
what do you think?
Frog on vintage bike is a "Inkadinkado" stamp.

Happy Froggy Birthday dear friend!

I just realized I never posted a picture of my finished
"Taina" shawl by Eeva Kesakuu, sorry,
it's been finished for a while but I guess,
I got so wrapped up in all my new knitting projects I totally forgot.
Well here is the finished product.
It turned our really pretty,
love the colors and super easy pattern.
The pattern is available for FREE on Ravelry
And it is so light, perfect for cool summer nights.
Beautiful!
And yes, I'm still working on my Knit-A-Long shawl.
I need to pick up speed, the KAL is over around the middle of the month
and I really would like to get it done.
Maybe all the patriotic Hershey Kisses I bought will help,
 LoL,
that and a few cups of coffee,
I be knitting for days.
 Aren't they adorable,
could not pass them up at the store
especially since it is Independence Day weekend!

Wishing you and yours
a wonderful and safe
Independence Day!
Happy 4th of July
to you all!
Thanks so much for stopping by
hope you have a great week!
