Joyeux Noel

Hello and
Merry Christmas to all of you!
Sorry I'm running a bit late on my Christmas card post
but I promise it was worth the wait.
I think this is one of my most detailed and
beautiful cards I ever made for Christmas.
"Joyeux Noel"
As some of you know I love everything Louisiana,
which is my husbands home state,
and I wanted to reflect a bit of our Louisiana culture in our Christmas card this year.
Delicate Spellbinders dies remind me a lot of the beautiful iron lacework in the French Quarter.
Creole is still spoken in the south and it is on my bucket list to learn
at least a few simple sentences.
 No Christmas without a Poinsettia.
How did I do?

Wishing everyone near and far
a wonderful
Merry Christmas,
Joyeux Noel,
Frohe Weihnachten!
May your home be filled with joy, peace and love!
To everyone deployed
thank you for your sacrifice,
and a safe return home!

Diana and Family

Since the list of dies I used is rather lengthy I added it at the end:
Crafter's Companion Embossing Folder "Entwined Holly, S-WW-EF5-EH
Spellbinders dies:
Cinch and Go Poinsettia, S4-960
Special Day Frame,  S5-374
Renaissance Tag Two, S4-600
Gold Majesty Circles, S4-409
August Small Die of the Month, DOM-AUG18
Sizzix Tim Holtz Thinlits, 658759
Papertrey Ink, Joyeux Noel Stamp Set, 3430

A little birdie told me...

... it is your birthday!
Hello
and happy weekend to you all!
I know the card I'm sharing today isn't very
seasonal but if you live anywhere around Kentucky
you sure would think it is spring.
Temps reached almost 70 today and while
Christmas shopping in town I saw people in shorts and t-shirts.
Don't worry, it will be snowing by Wednesday!!!
And also I made this little birthday card back in the spring but for some reason
never gotten around sharing it.
A little birdie told me...
 ... it is your birthday!
Lace back panel was cut with Spellbinders "Chantilly Paper Lace" die S5-327.
Bird was cut and embossed with Recollections die 508100.
Bird cage was cut with Sizzix/Tim Holtz "Caged Bird" die 656634
Flowers are punched and leaves were cut with
Spellbinders "Brilliant Butterfly" die S1-012.

I hope you liked this little birthday card
and I promises my next post will be all about
Christmas!!!
Have a beautiful week
and
thank you for stopping by!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone!
I hope you are all doing well?
We just experienced the craziest weather in Kentucky this week,
an ice storm in the middle of November,
almost unheard of according to the weather man.
Everyone is fine,
my trees however, not so much.
Lot's of clean up and probably replanting to do.
But the power is back on and I'm sure looking forward to
Thanksgiving this year.
So with this said here is the little card I made with the
Octobers Spellbinders Die of the Month.

This is the first time I used foam with a die and I have to say it worked really well.
I used copper colored foil paper for the acorn hat to give the card just a little bit of  shine.
A very simple but also cute card for Thanksgiving.

There is a lot I'm thankful for this year,
our sweet adorable Grand Baby, my amazing family, wonderful friends
and all of my loyal blog followers!
Thanks for sticking with me all these years!
I'm wishing you and your families a
wonderful and safe
Thanksgiving!
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Haunting!

Hello everyone
and
happy weekend to all!
Wow, I can not believe it's
almost Halloween already!
Where has the year gone?
I guess it's true,
the older you get the faster the time goes by,
well someone need to put the breaks on this year
because I'm not ready for winter and colder temps yet!!!
Well anyway, ready or not Halloween is next week
and
here is the little Halloween card I made for the occasion with
Spellbinders Septembers small and large die of the month sets.
"Happy Haunting"
Kitty is one of 4 dies from the large die of the month set.
"Happy Haunting" was cut with the small die set.

The little banner is made from scraps, little odds and ends of Halloween paper
I hate to throw away because you know they will come handy one day.
"Happy Haunting" to you all
and I hope you liked the little card!?

Thanks so much for stopping by
Happy Halloween to all of you
and be safe!

One Special Day!

Hello and
Happy Sunday to all of you!
My initial theme for today's post was Halloween
however that sightly changed when I realized I was in
short supply of Birthday cards.
So what better thing to do on a rainy gray Kentucky Sunday then make
some colorful cards to cheer me up.
I'm calling this one "Special Day".
Ornate gold foil and white frame, as well as "Special Day" was cut with
Spellbinders die set "Special Day Frames".
Flower and leaves are cut with Spellbinders Die of the Month, "Month 7".
I layered the gold foil panel with a white frame by putting tiny foam pieces in between the layers.
What do you think?
Does it bring a little color in your gray and rainy day?

I hope you have a wonderful week
and
thank you for stopping by!

A little bit of everything!

Hello and
happy weekend to you all!
Sorry no cards today,
well maybe just a little sneak peek of one at the end of the post.
Today it's  just little bit of everything I been playing with the last few weeks
including the Baby Star Blanket I finished a while back
and just realized I never posted a picture of the finished product.
After being a little skeptical about the color combination I think it
turned out great.
I need to get one more Baby blanket done before Christmas
however I'm taking a slight detour right now, lol, I started
on a new shawl.
I could not resist this beauty!
The "Te Manawakura Shawl" by Francoise Danoy of Aroha Knits is actually a KAL
I'm participating in right now,
keep your fingers crossed, it should be done in 6 weeks.
If you are interested in joining the KAL here is the link to the pattern on Ravelry.
Fall colors are slowly emerging in our yard and I could not
resist to share some with you.
This is a beautiful Cockscomb flower or "Celosia cristata".
Doesn't it look like a brain?
Fascinating!
 The color is absolutely beautiful.
With most of our summer flowers slowly dying this plant brings some
vibrant fall colors to our yard which will last well to the first frost.

Sorry about all the flower pictures,
I'm a little obsessed with Cockscomb right now.
Last but not least hear is
just a little sneak peek of my upcoming Halloween card.
It will feature Spellbinders Large and Small Die of the Month for September.
Stay tuned for more in the next blog post!

Thanks for taking time to visit!
Have a wonderful week!
Happy Crafting!

Happily Ever After!

Hello everyone!
I hope you enjoying your weekend
and maybe you find some time to get craftzy!
It's been a busy 2 weeks with finishing up some projects,
starting some new ones
and if you been following  me one Instagram you know
I been busy playing with some new stuff.
Just hop over to my Instagram site and check it out!
But today I would like to share with you a wedding card
I made for a sweet co-worker who is tying the knot in a few days.
"Happily Ever After".
Arbor was cut with Spellbinders "Grand Cabinet 3D Card".
Bride and Groom as well as sentiment was cut with
Spellbinders "Layered Happily Ever After".

Flower and leaves were cut with Spellbinders "Die of the Month 7".

As you can see I made 2 cards,
one shiny gold the other with a matt gold foil finish.
Actually  the matt gold card was the first card I made and for some reason I was not happy with it,
so I decided to try one with shiny gold foil ,
what do you think?
Matt or Shiny???
  Well,
I picked the shiny one for the Happy Couple and since it is such a
special occasion a fancied up the envelope too.
I can happily report that  the bride loved the card!!!

So if you looking for something to do this weekend
how a bout a cute wedding card with some gold foil
matt or shiny, you pick!

Thanks for stopping by,
have a wonderful creative week!
