A little bit of Asia!

I hardly ever get to use my asian stamps,
I'm not sure why but I guess they never matched anything I wanted to do
or a theme I had planned.
This card was actually a layout challenge I decided to enter.
After digging through my stamp sets I decided to give
this "Stampin'Up!" set called "Dream Gardens" a try.
Well what do you think?
The little fan is actually a gold painted doily cut in half and folded.
And can you guess what the chopsticks are made from...
... toothpicks with beads glued to the ends.
My little flower pot on our back deck is doing surprisingly great this year
despite the high heat and hardly any rain.

Queen Bee!

Finally, weekend!
Time to catch up on yard work, things around the house
and hopefully have some time left to do some fun stuff
before I have to go back to work on Monday.
Why is it that weekends go by so fast and the
workweek seems like it drags on forever?

Well I made some time and stopped by my favorite craft store in
town, well it's the only craft-store in town,
Michaels.
While strolling through the isle's I found this beauty,
a Queen Bee pendant, art-i-cake by Amy Labbe.
After debating for a while pendant and chain went home with me.

I wanted the pendant to be exchangeable,
but it didn't quiet work out the way I had planed.
The clip I had was to small to fit over the chain,
so for now it's permanently attached to I find another solution to the problem.
Not to bad for my first necklace,
what do you think?
Thanks for stopping in,
I hope you all have a nice and creative weekend!

Zentangle!

Yes, sometimes it pays off to be working at a Public Library.
Especially if you are the one who is opening and processing
the new book shipments.
Coming across a new crafts book
ah, instant
"NIRVANA"!
This is something I seen the other day
and thought was really neat,
actually so neat I wanted to share it with
my blog friends.
A series of books called ""Zentangle"
I can remember a long, long (very long) time ago we did something
similar at art class in school, but not quiet as elaborate.

This one especially caught my eye,
it's Zentangle with rubber stamps.

Just imagine the possibilities!

Here are the titles if somebody is interested
Zentangle Basics, Zentangle 2 and Zentangle 3
by Suzanne McNeill
and
Totally Tangled by Sandy Steen Bartholomew.

You might want to borrow the books from your Public Library first
before going out and buying them.
I always do, it saves me money just in case it's not what I was looking for or
I did not like the book.
It is easier to return the book to the library than a book store and ask for a refund.
Also if they do not carry them ask for the "Interlibrary Loan" service, at
your local Library you can borrow anything you want from another Library.

Thanks for stopping in!

A little Bird told me...

...it's your Birthday!
And if it is your special day today
"Happy Birthday to You"
hope you have a day to remember!

At my recent trip to our local Michael's store
I came across this adorable "Hero Arts" bird stamp.
Love at first sight and the little bird went home with me.

After finishing, I decided it will make a nice
fall birthday card.
what do you think?
Thanks for stopping in!

Just a few more pictures from Louisiana!

Just a few more pictures from our trip to
Louisiana.

Laura
A Creole Sugar Plantation in Vacherie, La.
This is the place where the tales of
Br'er Rabbit was first recorded.
http://www.lauraplantation.com

Look at this porch.
I can see myself sitting in one of those rocking chairs
and looking at the Mississippi River all day.

Oak Alley Plantation,
just a short ride from Laura
This is what I alway imagined a true
southern plantation should look like.
Including the old oak trees.

Ah, the pretty trees..

And yes, when you are in
Louisiana you need to do....
...a Swamp Tour!
Honey Island Swamp
and
the Pearl River!
Yep, it's what it says...
The nature and wild life was breath taking...
...and so close..
...and smiling...

It was the most amazing thing we did in a while.
Never thought I would see a gator close up
in mother nature.
Honey Island Swamp is a true paradise,
I hope it can be preserved for generations to come!
Just in case you interested in visiting
Honey Island Swamp
this is the tour company we used
I give them 2 thumbs up!

Bringing Baby!

Hello everyone!
Hope you all had a great weekend.

Karen Valentine's - My Desert Cottage
"Were Bloggers Create 2012'
blog party.
So many great spaces and creative minds,
you are all fabulous!

Well here is a card I did a while back for a
new arrival in our family.

The stamp is Stampin'up!
"Bringing Baby"
and
the label was cut from
a Cricut cartridge
"Lacy Labels".
Thanks for stopping in.

Come on in!

Hello everyone!
Come one in and take a look at my creative space.
Welcome to our Home and the home of
"My Paper Daisy".
Don't be shy, step right in!

I hope you liked my space.
My room is a little missy,
yes, and sometimes I can't find what I'm looking for.
Oh, and sometimes I buy things twice because
I don't know what I have.
But I love what I do.
It's the home of a creative mind<3

So if you liked what you seen,
come back often!
There is always a comfy chair waiting for you
to hang out a while!
Thanks for stopping in!
Stampingly yours
Diana
